SCHOOL SUNNIES AUSTRALIA

PROviding PRIMARY school children with the highest quality in protective sunglasses

WELCOME

Welcome to School Sunnies Australia! We are proud to showcase our exclusive range of children's sunglasses designed specifically for school aged kids who play outside in Australia's harsh sunshine. Our glasses are incredibly durable, rigorously tested and come with the ability to be personalised both on the arm, and in our soft cases.

Sun safety is our main focus here at School Sunnies Australia; and it's our mission to help your children see a bright and happy future.

Are available in three sizes (small, medium, large) to comfortably fit all shaped faces and are available in four colours to colour coordinate with your school's uniform; navy, bottle-green, maroon and grey.

The sunglasses are fitted with polycarbonate lenses making them more impact resistant than plastic lenses. Our sunnies are presented in a quality pack which includes a microfibre cleaning cloth and a durable case that clips onto your child's schoolbag.

With hundreds of students at most schools an identification area is located on both the sunglasses and the case so your child should never lose their sunnies again.

ABOUT

Conceived in 2007, School Sunnies Australia Pty Ltd was formally established in 2012 by Fox Sports reporter, Alissa Smith, former host of kid’s television program, Totally Wild.

The idea was born during Alissa Smith’s involvement with her family’s sunglasses store.

It was during her time on Totally Wild that Alissa continued to notice that workplace health and safety requirements for sun protection for adults were set against a lack of similar requirements for children at school, sporting events and at home.

With the alarming health statistics on the effects of UV rays on children’s eyes in mind, Alissa set about properly establishing School Sunnies Australia Pty Ltd.

HEALTH

CHILDREN ARE AT THE GREATEST RISK FROM UV DAMAGE

Just by wearing sunnies with a broad-brimmed hat, your child can reduce UV radiation exposure to the eyes by up to 98%.¹
Alarmingly, 80% of a person’s lifetime exposure to UV is received BEFORE the age of 18.²
Children have larger pupils and clearer lenses allowing up to 70% more UV light to reach the retina than an adult’s eye.³

DID YOU KNOW?

Australians are acutely aware of the potential implications of sun damage to skin, yet our eyes are ten times more sensitive to UV light than our skin. Cumulative exposure to UV, even when it is overcast, can significantly increase the risk of developing more serious, sight threatening conditions. While some damage can be reversed, other conditions such as cataracts and macular degeneration may result in permanent vision loss.
